The Chignik, Alaska DEM covers a portion of the northeastern Alaskan Peninsula and includes the community of Chignik and the islands of Mitrofania and Nakchamik. The DEM has a 1 arc-second (~30 meter) cell size, and is referenced to a vertical datum of mean high water. A smaller, 1/3 arc-second (~10 meter) DEM was also developed. The DEMs were built in October 2008 to support NOAA's Tsunami Program.
