The Yakutat 8 arc-second DEM covers Yakutat Bay and adjacent regions of the coast of the Gulf of Alaska, including the community of Yakutat. Smaller DEMs of the Yakutat area were also developed. The DEMs were built in May 2009 to support the State of Alaska's efforts to improve the resiliency of its coastal communities to tsunamis.
