The Midway Atoll DEM integrates bathymetry and topography surrounding Midway Atoll in the Central Pacific. It covers Sand Island and Eastern Island, collectively called Midway Island, and extends onto the slopes of the volcanic pedestal. The DEM has a 1/3 arc-second (~10 meter) cell size, and is referenced to a vertical datum of mean high water. A larger, 3 arc-second (~90 meter) DEM was also developed. The DEMs were built in June 2009 to support NOAA's Tsunami Program.
