1996 Indian and Southwestern Pacific Ocean Cyclones

With 36 tropical cyclones and 20 of those reaching sever tropical cyclone strength, 1996 was an above average year for tropical storm activity in the Southwest and Southeast Indian basins and at or below average for the North Indian and Southwest Pacific basins.
