In an effort to provide a central library for digital aeromagnetic data in the public domain, the National Geophysical Data Center (NGDC) is continuing to assimilate new digital data from aeromagnetic surveys in the United States. Major contributors to this important data base include the U.S. Geological Survey, U.S. Naval Oceanographic Office, U.S. Naval Research Laboratory, Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, the University of Texas, and the Natural Resources Canada (NRCAN). The details of these surveys are contained in an automated inventory system Geophysical Data System (GEODAS). The philosophy of exchange of data from the NGDC archive for new contributions has stimulated many organizations to transfer their data holdings to the Data Center. purpose: To provide large quantities of world wide aeromagnetic trackline observation data to the general public and scientific community status: (MD_ProgressCode) underDevelopment pointOfContact: (CI_ResponsibleParty) individualName: Brian Meyer organisationName: DOC/NOAA/NESDIS/NGDC > National Geophysical Data Center, NESDIS, NOAA, U.S. Department of Commerce contactInfo: (CI_Contact) phone: (CI_Telephone) voice: 303-497-6125 address: (CI_Address) electronicMailAddress: Brian.Meyer@noaa.gov role: (CI_RoleCode) pointOfContact resourceMaintenance: (MD_MaintenanceInformation) maintenanceAndUpdateFrequency: (MD_MaintenanceFrequencyCode) asNeeded descriptiveKeywords: (MD_Keywords) keyword: EARTH SCIENCE > Solid Earth > Geomagnetism > Magnetic Field keyword: EARTH SCIENCE > Solid Earth > Geomagnetism > Magnetic Intensity keyword: EARTH SCIENCE > Solid Earth > Geomagnetism > Magnetic Declination keyword: EARTH SCIENCE > Solid Earth > Geomagnetism > Magnetic Inclination keyword: EARTH SCIENCE > Solid Earth > Geomagnetism > Reference Fields keyword: EARTH SCIENCE > Solid Earth > Geomagnetism > Magnetic Anomalies type: (MD_KeywordTypeCode) theme thesaurusName: (CI_Citation) title: NASA/GCMD Science Keywords date: citedResponsibleParty: (CI_ResponsibleParty) organisationName: NASA positionName: GCMD User Support Office contactInfo: (CI_Contact) address: (CI_Address) electronicMailAddress: gcmduso@gcmd.gsfc.nasa.gov onlineResource: (CI_OnlineResource) linkage: http://gcmd.nasa.gov/MailComments/MailComments.jsf?rcpt=gcmduso name: GCMD Feedback Form description: Have a Comment for the GCMD? function: (CI_OnLineFunctionCode) information role: (CI_RoleCode) custodian citedResponsibleParty: (CI_ResponsibleParty) organisationName: contactInfo: (CI_Contact) onlineResource: (CI_OnlineResource) linkage: http://gcmd.nasa.gov/learn/keyword_list.html name: GCMD Keywords Page description: This page describes the NASA GCMD Keywords, how to reference those keywords and provides download instructions. function: (CI_OnLineFunctionCode) information role: (CI_RoleCode) custodian descriptiveKeywords: (MD_Keywords) keyword: DOC/NOAA/NESDIS/NGDC > National Geophysical Data Center, NESDIS, NOAA, U.S. Department of Commerce type: (MD_KeywordTypeCode) dataCenter thesaurusName: (CI_Citation) title: NASA/GCMD Data Center Keywords date: citedResponsibleParty: (CI_ResponsibleParty) organisationName: NASA positionName: GCMD User Support Office contactInfo: (CI_Contact) address: (CI_Address) electronicMailAddress: gcmduso@gcmd.gsfc.nasa.gov onlineResource: (CI_OnlineResource) linkage: http://gcmd.nasa.gov/MailComments/MailComments.jsf?rcpt=gcmduso name: GCMD Feedback Form description: Have a Comment for the GCMD? function: (CI_OnLineFunctionCode) information role: (CI_RoleCode) custodian citedResponsibleParty: (CI_ResponsibleParty) organisationName: contactInfo: (CI_Contact) onlineResource: (CI_OnlineResource) linkage: http://gcmd.nasa.gov/learn/keyword_list.html name: GCMD Keywords Page description: This page describes the NASA GCMD Keywords, how to reference those keywords and provides download instructions. function: (CI_OnLineFunctionCode) information role: (CI_RoleCode) custodian descriptiveKeywords: (MD_Keywords) keyword: Geographic Region > Global type: (MD_KeywordTypeCode) place thesaurusName: (CI_Citation) title: NASA/GCMD Location Keywords date: citedResponsibleParty: (CI_ResponsibleParty) organisationName: NASA positionName: GCMD User Support Office contactInfo: (CI_Contact) address: (CI_Address) electronicMailAddress: gcmduso@gcmd.gsfc.nasa.gov onlineResource: (CI_OnlineResource) linkage: http://gcmd.nasa.gov/MailComments/MailComments.jsf?rcpt=gcmduso name: GCMD Feedback Form description: Have a Comment for the GCMD? function: (CI_OnLineFunctionCode) information role: (CI_RoleCode) custodian citedResponsibleParty: (CI_ResponsibleParty) organisationName: contactInfo: (CI_Contact) onlineResource: (CI_OnlineResource) linkage: http://gcmd.nasa.gov/learn/keyword_list.html name: GCMD Keywords Page description: This page describes the NASA GCMD Keywords, how to reference those keywords and provides download instructions. function: (CI_OnLineFunctionCode) information role: (CI_RoleCode) custodian resourceConstraints: (MD_LegalConstraints) useLimitation: While every effort has been made to ensure that these data are accurate and reliable within the limits of the current state of the art, NOAA cannot assume liability for any damages caused by any errors or omissions in the data, nor as a result of the failure of the data to function on a particular system.
