RB-12-02 was one of a series of cruises for the U.S. Extended Continental
Shelf (ECS) Project. the cruise left Charleston, SC and headed along the US Atlantic
continental margin that may potentially qualify for an extended continental shelf
under Article 76 of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS).
The data collected was multibeam bathymetry data, backscatter, as well as a sub-bottom
profile.
