5-minute Gridded Global Relief Data (ETOPO5)

Earth topography five minute grid (ETOPO5) is a gridded data base of worldwide elevations derived from several sources at a resolution of 5 minutes of latitude and longitude. Data are also available for on-line searching through the NGDC server at URL http://www.ngdc.noaa.gov/mgg/global/global.html. ETOPO5 is also available on CD-ROM, and a number of derived products are available from NGDC.

      Processing Steps
      • 2015-04-22T00:00:00 - NOAA created the National Centers for Environmental Information (NCEI) by merging NOAA's National Climatic Data Center (NCDC), National Geophysical Data Center (NGDC), and National Oceanographic Data Center (NODC), including the National Coastal Data Development Center (NCDDC), per the Consolidated and Further Continuing Appropriations Act, 2015, Public Law 113-235. NCEI launched publicly on April 22, 2015.
