MAPVI (Mapping Alliance Partnership VI for FEMA Region IV) is a joint venture of URS Corporation, Greenhorne & O'Mara and Spectrum Mapping. Spectrum followed data collection and processing procedures for Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Guidelines and Specifications Appendix A. Data product deliverables included Lidar to support 2 foot contours. Spectrum's acquisition division collected the Lidar data on June 19, 22-25, 27, 28 and July 16 and 17, 2006. The project was collected with a Rams ALS50 Lidar sensor, including an inertial measurement unit (IMU) and a dual frequency Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver and antenna. Upon receipt of this data, the NOAA Coastal Serices Center reclassified all non-ground data to a classification of 1 (Unclassified) and all ground points to a classification of 2 (Ground). purpose: This LIDAR operation was designed to provide a high density set of masspoints within the defined areas. The data sets are suitable for the development of contours for use in hydraulic/hydrologic model development, and for assessing environmental impacts. Typical uses for the data set include: FEMA Flood Plain Map Modernization, DFIRM map updates, watersheds and other hydro studies per FEMA specifications, county mapping projects, and flood mitigation assessment. credit: Acknowledgement of FEMA would be appreciated in products derived from these data. status: (MD_ProgressCode) completed pointOfContact: (CI_ResponsibleParty) organisationName: Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Region VI contactInfo: (CI_Contact) phone: (CI_Telephone) voice: 940-898-5165 address: (CI_Address) deliveryPoint: FRC 800 North Loop 288 city: Denton administrativeArea: TX postalCode: 76209 country: United States role: (CI_RoleCode) pointOfContact resourceMaintenance: (MD_MaintenanceInformation) maintenanceAndUpdateFrequency: (MD_MaintenanceFrequencyCode) notPlanned graphicOverview: (MD_BrowseGraphic) fileName: ftp://ftp.csc.noaa.gov/pub/crs/beachmap/qa_docs/tx/nueces/2006_FEMA_Lidar_Nueces_County.kmz fileDescription: This kmz file shows the extent of coverage for the 2006 FEMA Nueces County, TX lidar data set. fileType: kmz descriptiveKeywords: (MD_Keywords) keyword: Bathymetry/Topography keyword: Land Surface keyword: Topography keyword: Digital Terrain Model keyword: Elevation Data keyword: LIDAR keyword: Breaklines keyword: Contours keyword: DEM keyword: Flow vectors type: (MD_KeywordTypeCode) theme thesaurusName: (CI_Citation) title: None date: descriptiveKeywords: (MD_Keywords) keyword: United States keyword: Texas keyword: Nueces County type: (MD_KeywordTypeCode) place thesaurusName: (CI_Citation) title: None date: resourceConstraints: (MD_Constraints) useLimitation: These data depict the elevations at the time of the survey and are only accurate for that time. The files contained Lidar elevation and intensity measurements. The data was in Texas State Plane coordinates - South (FIPS Zone 4205), NAD83 and NAVD88 Geoid 03 vertical datum and US Survey Feet. CSC performed the following processing to the data to make it available within the Digital Coast: 1. The data were converted from Texas State Plane coordinates to geographic coordinates. 2. The data were converted from NAVD88 (orthometric) heights to GRS80 (ellipsoid) heights using Geoid 03. 3. The data were converted from US Survey feet to meters. 4. The LAS data were sorted by latitude and the headers were updated. 5. The data are currently being served via NOAA CSC Digital Coast at http://www.csc.noaa.gov/digitalcoast/. The data can be used to re-populate the system. The data are archived in LAS or LAZ format. The LAS format is an industry standard for LiDAR data developed by the American Society of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ASPRS); LAZ is a loseless compressed version of LAS developed by Martin Isenburg (http://www.laszip.org/). The data are exclusively in geographic coordinates (either NAD83 or ITRF94). The data are referenced vertically to the ellipsoid (either GRS80 or ITRF94), allowing for the ability to apply the most up to date geoid model when transforming to orthometric heights. dateTime: DateTime: 2011-05-03T00:00:00 processor: (CI_ResponsibleParty) individualName: Pamela Grothe organisationName: DOC/NOAA/NESDIS/NGDC > National Geophysical Data Center, NESDIS, NOAA, U.S. Department of Commerce contactInfo: (CI_Contact) contactInstructions: Contact Data Center role: (CI_RoleCode) processor return to top metadataMaintenance: (MD_MaintenanceInformation) maintenanceAndUpdateFrequency: (MD_MaintenanceFrequencyCode) annually dateOfNextUpdate: 2014-06-11 maintenanceNote: This metadata was automatically generated from the FGDC Content Standards for Digital Geospatial Metadata standard (version FGDC-STD-001-1998) using the 2013-01-04 version of the FGDC RSE to ISO 19115-2 for LiDAR transform. maintenanceNote: Translated from FGDC 2013-06-11T09:44:18.75-06:00 maintenanceNote: Last Metadata Review Date: 2011-11-19 |
