ESRI GRIDs of bare earth points are also provided. The files were provided in a scheme of FDEM-derived 5,000 x 5,000 foot (1500 x 1500 meter) tiles. Horizontal mapping units are in UTM meters, vertical mapping units are in U.S. survey feet. The total mapping area covers approximately 2102 square miles. purpose: The purpose of the project is to produce accurate, high-resolution data for planning, analysis, and for use with other datasets. Merrick obtained LiDAR data over approximately 2,102 square miles covering all or portions of 5-Counties in Florida. The LiDAR data has been processed to result in a data set that is suitable for the future generation of 2-foot contours. These data will be used to support FEMA's Map Modernization Program through the creation of high-resolution digital elevation models (DEMs). These DEMs support a variety of applications, including improved floodplain delineation, hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, hazard mapping as well as other planning activities. credit: Merrick & Company status: (MD_ProgressCode) completed pointOfContact: (CI_ResponsibleParty) individualName: Mr. John Crowe organisationName: Northwest Florida Water Management District positionName: Associate Hydrologist, Division of Resource Management contactInfo: (CI_Contact) phone: (CI_Telephone) voice: 850-539-5999 address: (CI_Address) deliveryPoint: 81 Water Management Drive city: Havana administrativeArea: FL postalCode: 32333 country: USA electronicMailAddress: jon.crowe@nwfwmd.state.fl.us role: (CI_RoleCode) pointOfContact resourceMaintenance: (MD_MaintenanceInformation) maintenanceAndUpdateFrequency: (MD_MaintenanceFrequencyCode) asNeeded graphicOverview: (MD_BrowseGraphic) fileName: ftp://ftp.csc.noaa.gov/pub/crs/beachmap/qa_docs/fl/nwfwmd/2007_NWFWMD_5_Counties_Lidar.kmz fileDescription: This kmz file shows the extent of coverage for the 2007 NWFWMD "5 Counties" lidar data set. fileType: kmz descriptiveKeywords: (MD_Keywords) keyword: Bathymetry/Topography keyword: LIDAR keyword: digital surface model keyword: elevation keyword: bare earth keyword: canopy keyword: binary keyword: classified keyword: LAS keyword: DEM type: (MD_KeywordTypeCode) theme thesaurusName: (CI_Citation) title: None date: descriptiveKeywords: (MD_Keywords) keyword: US keyword: Florida keyword: Northwest Florida Water Management District keyword: Jackson County keyword: Calhoun County keyword: Washington County keyword: Liberty County keyword: Holmes County type: (MD_KeywordTypeCode) place thesaurusName: (CI_Citation) title: None date: resourceConstraints: (MD_Constraints) useLimitation: These data depict the elevations at the time of the survey and are only accurate for that time. During boresighting, adjoining flightlines are view in profile and hard edged features are observed and if necessary the flightlines are adjusted for good relative horizontal and vertical fit. The second test for horizontal accuracy is by comparing raw contours from each flightline against adjoining flightlines at specific points. The final test is the vertical LIDAR control report. result: report: (DQ_AbsoluteExternalPositionalAccuracy) nameOfMeasure: Vertical Positional Accuracy Report evaluationMethodDescription: Survey control points were used to validate the accuracy of the LIDAR surface model after automatic and hand filtering. The sensor data was verified in MARS software to ensure complete coverage. result: report: (DQ_ConceptualConsistency) measureDescription: Calibrations of the LIDAR flightline data are performed; this process is known as boresighting. The flightlines are compared to evaluate both their relative and absolute accuracies. result: lineage: (LI_Lineage) processStep: (LE_ProcessStep) description: LIDAR data was collected using Merrick's ALS50 Phase 2 sensor. The raw data was verified in MARS software for complete coverage of the project area, and boresighted to align the flightlines. Raw data files were parsed into manageable client-specific tiles. These tiles were then processed through automated filtering that separates the data into different classification groups: error points, ground points, and canopy/building points. The data was next taken into a graphic environment to reclassify the erroneous points that may remain in the LIDAR point cloud after auto filter. dateTime: DateTime: 2007-06-11T00:00:00 processor: (CI_ResponsibleParty) individualName: Doug Jacoby organisationName: Merrick & Company positionName: Director of Projects / Project Manager contactInfo: (CI_Contact) phone: (CI_Telephone) voice: 303-353-3903 facsimile: 303-745-0964 address: (CI_Address) deliveryPoint: 2450 South Peoria Street city: Aurora administrativeArea: CO postalCode: 80014 country: U.S.A. electronicMailAddress: doug.jacoby@merrick.com hoursOfService: 8 am - 5 pm, Mountain Time Zone, Monday thru Friday contactInstructions: Call or email during business hours role: (CI_RoleCode) processor processStep: (LE_ProcessStep) description: The NOAA Coastal Services Center (CSC) received files in LAS format. The data are currently being served via NOAA CSC Digital Coast at http://www.csc.noaa.gov/digitalcoast/. The data can be used to re-populate the system. The data are archived in LAS or LAZ format. The LAS format is an industry standard for LiDAR data developed by the American Society of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ASPRS); LAZ is a loseless compressed version of LAS developed by Martin Isenburg (http://www.laszip.org/). The data are exclusively in geographic coordinates (either NAD83 or ITRF94). The data are referenced vertically to the ellipsoid (either GRS80 or ITRF94), allowing for the ability to apply the most up to date geoid model when transforming to orthometric heights. dateTime: DateTime: 2011-07-26T00:00:00 processor: (CI_ResponsibleParty) individualName: Pamela Grothe organisationName: DOC/NOAA/NESDIS/NGDC > National Geophysical Data Center, NESDIS, NOAA, U.S. Department of Commerce contactInfo: (CI_Contact) contactInstructions: Contact Data Center role: (CI_RoleCode) processor source: (LI_Source) description: Source Contribution: Ground Control.
