NewForm Data conversion and Export
NewForm is a utility for converting between different data formats using
a flexible data
format description language. NewForm will read the input format description
section in the format file (.fmt) and output data in any format specified
in a corresponding output format description section in the format file.
Examples of input and output format descriptions are included with New
Form. Users may copy these files to a working directory and edit the formats
as needed to match input formats required by other software. Data
structures and formats are documented in the GED User's
Guide. For instructions on format description syntax and how to use
Newform, download the FreeForm
Manual. Newform is part of the FreeForm suite and installation of FreeForm
is neccessary to run newform.

Newform is a program developed and distributed by the National Geophysical
Data Center. The software package, including manuals, is provided with
this databasee under the "Software" directory. More recent versions of
these products may be available from NGDC Technical
Support.
