Southeast Indian Ridge; Sampling locale: NW wall of axial high near center of segment L.
1 :    IGSN IEUHM007D  
Lithology/Mineralogy: igneous (extrusive/volcanic), basalt
Comments: Sample Type: Pillow basalt. Mineralogy: Sparse plagioclase. Weathering: Moderate to heavy. Glass condition: Some fresh glass, palagonitized glass and Mn/Fe oxide coating. 2 buckets. Total dredge recovery ~100 kgs. ~30 kgs was kept. Glass was taken from all six samples for KJ. DG has subsample of 34-1 thru 34-3. KN has WR subsamples of 34-5. Glass taken from 34-1 thru 34-4 for probe. All six samples placed in bucket. Basalt pillow fragments with sparse plagioclase phenocrysts. All samples have moderate alteration with Mn/Fe coatings with small amounts of fresh glass. Type 1 from this dredge.

Lithology/Mineralogy: igneous (extrusive/volcanic), basalt
Comments: 34-7; Sample Type: Pillow basalt. Mineralogy: Sparse plagioclase. Weathering: Moderate to heavy. Glass condition: No fresh glass. 2 buckets. Total dredge recovery ~100 kgs. ~30 kgs was kept. No glass taken. KN has WR subsample of 34-7. Sample placed in bucket. Vesicular basalt pillow fragment (the inside of the pillow) with sparse plagioclase phenocrysts. No fresh glass. Type 2 from this dredge.
