Comments: Sample Type: Pillow basalt. Mineralogy: Plagioclase. Weathering: Light to moderate. Glass condition: Some fresh glassProbe glass taken. 41-1 and 41-2 subsampled by DG. Whole rock of 41-4 subsampled by KN. Glass to KJ.Fragments of pillow basalts with glassy rims of variable thickness containing plagioclase phenocrysts and with some Mn oxide coatings. 41-3 has a double chilled margiin. Type 1 of this dredge.

Weathered glass from 41-5 to KJ and probe. Angular pillow basalt fragment containing a few percent plagioclase phenocrysts, dark brown staining of Fe/Mn oxides and alteration rind ~1 cm thick. Some old glass on 41-5. Type 2 of this dredge.

Type 3 of this dredge, distinguishable from type 2 in its higher crystallinity and older appearance..
