1 :
Weathering/Metamorphism: weathering - fresh
Comments: Sample Type: Pillow basalt. Mineralogy: Plagioclase. Weathering: Fresh. Glass condition: >50% fresh glass. 1 bucket. Glass taken for probe and subsampled by DG. Remaining glass to KJ. Several smaller pieces with little or no glass also included as unnumbered pieces, along with station glass from dredge bag.piece of pillow toe with ~1 cm thick fresh glassy rinds, with nearly aphyric interiors containing minor small phenocrysts of plagioclase; interior also shows distinct spherulitic texture (t.s. cut); Type 1 of 2 fromt this dredge
2 :
Weathering/Metamorphism: weathering - fresh
Comments: Sample Type: Pillow basalt. Mineralogy: Olivine+plagioclase. Weathering: Fresh. Glass condition: >50% fresh glass. 1 bucket. Glass taken for probe and subsampled by DG. Remaining glass to KJ. KN subsampled 58-3. pieces of pillow toes and fragments with ~1 cm thick fresh glassy rinds, with nearly aphyric interiors containing minor small phenocrysts of olivine and plagioclase; Type 2 of 2. 58-3 shows concentration of olivine in pillow's interior.
