Lithology/Mineralogy: igneous (extrusive/volcanic), basalt
Weathering/Metamorphism: weathering - light
Comments: Sample Type: Sheet flow basalt. Mineralogy: Plagioclase and olivine. Weathering: Light. Glass condition: >50% fresh glass and Mn/Fe oxide coatings. 2 buckets.Glass taken for probe. 67-1 and 67-3 subsampled by DG. Remaining glass to KJ. 67-3 whole rock sub- sampled by KN.Plagioclase-phyric lobate flows and lava buds also containing olivine and having glass rinds up to ~1 cm thick and outer coatings of Fe/Mn oxides. Samples are dense and noticeably heavier than normal. Type 1 of 1 in this dredge.
