Central United States Earthquake Consortium (CUSEC) 2630 Holmes Road East Memphis, TN 38118-8001 Telephone: (901) 544-3570 or (800) 824-5817 toll free Fax: (901) 544-0544 Email: cusec@ceri.memphis.edu Website: http://www.cusec.org The Central United States Earthquake Consortium's (CUSEC) mission is to "Reduce the number of deaths, injuries, and property loss caused by earthquakes in the Central United States." The Consortium works with its seven charter member states: Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Mississippi, Missouri, and Tennessee in achieving its mission. The Consortium also has ten Associate member states which it works with: Alabama, Georgia, Iowa, Louisiana, Nebraska, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, and Virginia. CUSEC's areas of focus are on mitigation strategies, public awareness programs, multi-state emergency response and recovery planning, and earthquake geologic and engineering research in the region. The Consortium maintains resource inventories and participates in Federal, state, and local earthquake exercises. CUSEC distributes all of the earthquake related Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) publications, as well as published resources from the seven charter member states and University researchers in the Central United States.
