The following organization provides Earthquake data for the United States and Worldwide.

National Geophysical Data Center Hazards Group

The National Geophysical Data Center provides the following earthquake data and information:

NGDC Significant Earthquake Catalog

The Significant Earthquake Data Base contains over 5,000 records of earthquake events worldwide from 2,000 B.C. to the present. Events included meet these criteria: one million dollars in damage, 10 deaths, or magnitude of 7.5 or greater. The following parameters are included for each event: time, date, latitude, longitude, focal depth, magnitude, number of deaths, information on damage, and reference.

NGDC Natural Hazards Images

The Geologic Hazards Images depict geologic hazards throughout the world from 1811 to present. The following subjectsi are included: Earthquake Damage, Volcanic Effects, Tsunamis, and other Geologic Hazards.

NGDC Intensity Catalog

The Earthquake Intensity Catalog contains data on earthquake effects measured on the Modified Mercalli Intensity Scale for over 22,000 earthquakes in the United States between 1928 and 1985. Information includes: the source of the earthquake, the latitude and longitude of the nearest city or town, and the calculated distance between the two points. The source of data is principally the US Earthquakes Series and Abstracts of Earthquake Reports for the US.

NGDC Earthquake Strong Motion Data Archive

The Earthquake Strong-Motion Data Archive is a continuously updated archive. It is a worldwide collection of digitized strong-motion accelerograms. Types of data available include raw, filtered, and response spectra records obtained from a wide variety of recording environments such as buildings, dams, and bridges.

These datasets are available online. Data provided on compact disc or diskette are furnished at cost of duplication. Call or visit the website for more information.
