The following organization provides Volcano data for the United States.

U.S. Geological Survey Volcano Hazards Program

The U.S. Geological Survey Volcano Hazards Program studies active volcanism and warns of impending eruptions in the United States, information is obtained from scientific study and monitoring of volcanoes at three volcano observatories and the USGS Western Region Center in Menlo Park, California. The Program also assists other nations around the world to prepare for and respond to volcano emergencies.

Their strategy at each volcano observatory is to monitor earthquake activity, ground deformation, gas chemistry, and other geophysical and hydrologic conditions before, during, and after eruptions. Observations are used to detect activity leading to an eruption, provide real-time emergency information about eruptions, identify hazardous areas around active and potentially active volcanoes, and improve the understanding of how volcanoes erupt and change our environment.

U.S. Geological Survey Volcano Observatories are as follows:

The Alaska Volcano Observatory has two locations in Anchorage and Fairbanks, Alaska. It is a cooperative effort of the U.S. Geological Survey, the Geophysical Institute of the University of Alaska at Fairbanks, and the Alaska Division of Geological and Geophysical Surveys.

The USGS Cascades Volcano Observatory is located in Vancouver, Washington. It is also headquarters for the Volcano Disaster Assistance Program, a joint effort of the USGS the U.S. Agency for International Development's Office of Foreign Disaster Assistance.

The USGS Hawaiian Volcano Observatory is located in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park on the Big Island of Hawaii.

Although not an actual "observatory" facility, the Long Valley Observatory manages the monitoring efforts for the Long Valley Caldera from the USGS Western Region Headquarters in Menlo Park, California.

The Volcano Hazards Program maintains a Selected Products site that provides information on related USGS publications, educational materials and fact sheets. Available formats include PDF, CD-ROM, Videos and Computer Software.
