Sea Grant Program

The Sea Grant Program at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI) supports research, education, and advisory projects to promote use and understanding of ocean and coastal resources. Research projects currently funded fit into the following theme areas: Estuarine and Coastal Processes, Fisheries and Aquaculture, and Environmental Technology. Since 1971, WHOI Sea Grant has supported publication of over 600 products, including journal articles, books, theses, maps, fact sheets, pamphlets, and websites.

WHOI Sea Grant's website features Project Guides describing research and outreach efforts; Focal Points, a series of fact sheets on current research topics, including harmful algae blooms; and a publications database covering 1971 through 1995.
