The following organization provides Hydrometeorological data.

National Weather Service - Office of Hydrologic Development

    Gary Carter, Director
    Office of Hydrologic Development

    Fax: (301) 713-0963
    Website: http://www.nws.noaa.gov/oh/

The Office of Hydrologic Development (OHD) enhances National Weather Service (NWS) products by:

  • infusing new hydrologic science
  • developing hydrologic techniques for operational use
  • managing hydrologic development by NWS field offices
  • providing advanced hydrologic products to meet needs identified by NWS customers

National Weather Service - Office of Climate, Water, and Weather Services

The Hydrologic Information Center (HIC) is located within the Office of Climate, Water, and Weather Services. HIC issues national flooding condition outlooks and prepares national summaries of hydrologic conditions, including river conditions, with emphasis on extreme events such as floods and anomalously low flows.

Much of the data and information provided by the HIC is available via the website listed above. In addition, much of the forecast and other data is provided to the National Climatological Data Center and is available to researchers through that agency.
