Electron Density Profile Data Contains Virtual Height/Frequency Pairs from a Profile or Profiles (Composite Months) of Ionograms

The Electron Density Profile, N(h), data set contains both individual profiles and composite months. The data consist of virtual height/frequency pairs from a profile or profiles (composite months) of ionograms. Data includes the station, year, month and hour (or composite month) for each record. Data are available on 9-track magnetic tape. Electron density profiles are also available in Dataset_ID: G10145. The stations included are Argentia, Bermuda,
College, Dyess, Goose Bay, Narssarssuaq, Puerto Rico, Sondestrom, Thule, and Wallops Island.

Processing Steps
  • 2015-04-22T00:00:00 -NOAA created the National Centers for Environmental Information (NCEI) by merging NOAA's National Climatic Data Center (NCDC), National Geophysical Data Center (NGDC), and National Oceanographic Data Center (NODC), including the National Coastal Data Development Center (NCDDC), per the Consolidated and Further Continuing Appropriations Act, 2015, Public Law 113-235. NCEI launched publicly on April 22, 2015.
