Data from the worldwide network of geophysical and solar observatories were compiled each month. The data began to be complied in November 1955 and ended in September 2009. SGD helped keep researchers informed of the major events on the sun and associated interplanetary, ionospheric, radio propagation and other geophysical effects. This report series was made possible through the cooperation of many observatories, laboratories and agencies worldwide. Data included: daily maps of the sun showing active regions, daily sunspot information, event data such as solar radio and flare events, satellite data such as solar wind and interplanetary magnetic field measurements, cosmic ray data, geomagnetic activity data, and ionospheric propagation indices. The SGD was divided into two reports, the Prompt Report contained data available for one and two months before the report publication date and the Comprehensive Report that contained data that became available six months after the report publication date. purpose: The Solar Geophysical Data (SGD) reports provided the scientific community with a comprehensive historical record of solar and geophyscial phenomena. credit: Online access to the complete set of Solar Geophysical Data (SGD) reports provided by the NOAA Solar and Terrestrial Physics Division. During the active years of publication, numerous organizations provided data and associated information included in the SGD reports - please refer to the particular volumes for a list of contributors. status: (MD_ProgressCode) underDevelopment pointOfContact: (CI_ResponsibleParty) individualName: William Denig organisationName: DOC/NOAA/NESDIS/NCEI > National Centers for Environmental Information, NESDIS, NOAA, U.S. Department of Commerce contactInfo: (CI_Contact) phone: (CI_Telephone) voice: (303) 497-6323 facsimile: (303) 497-6513 address: (CI_Address) deliveryPoint: 325 Broadway E/GC2 city: Boulder administrativeArea: CO postalCode: 80305 country: USA electronicMailAddress: solar.ngdc@noaa.gov hoursOfService: 7:30 - 4:30 Mountain role: (CI_RoleCode) pointOfContact resourceMaintenance: (MD_MaintenanceInformation) maintenanceAndUpdateFrequency: (MD_MaintenanceFrequencyCode) annually graphicOverview: (MD_BrowseGraphic) fileName: ftp://ftp.ngdc.noaa.gov/STP/publications/stp_sgd/docs/browse_19980401_cover_sgd.jpg fileDescription: Sample cover page for the monthly Solar Geophysical Data (SGD) comprehensive reports fileType: Joint Photographic Experts Group (jpg) format descriptiveKeywords: (MD_Keywords) keyword: Sun-Earth Interactions > Ionosphere/Magnetosphere Dynamics > Aurorae keyword: Sun-Earth Interactions > Ionosphere/Magnetosphere Dynamics > Geomagnetic Indices keyword: Sun-Earth Interactions > Ionosphere/Magnetosphere Dynamics > Magnetic Fields/Magnetic Currents keyword: Sun-Earth Interactions > Ionosphere/Magnetosphere Dynamics > Magnetic Storms keyword: Sun-Earth Interactions > Ionosphere/Magnetosphere Dynamics > Solar Wind keyword: Sun-Earth Interactions > Solar Activity > Corona keyword: Sun-Earth Interactions > Solar Activity > Corona Holes keyword: Sun-Earth Interactions > Solar Activity > Coronal Mass Ejections keyword: Sun-Earth Interactions > Solar Activity > Cosmic Rays keyword: Sun-Earth Interactions > Solar Activity > Solar Active Regions keyword: Sun-Earth Interactions > Solar Activity > Solar Flares keyword: Sun-Earth Interactions > Solar Activity > Solar Imagery keyword: Sun-Earth Interactions > Solar Activity > Solar Irradiance keyword: Sun-Earth Interactions > Solar Activity > Solar Prominences/Solar Filaments keyword: Sun-Earth Interactions > Solar Activity > Solar Radio Wave Emissions keyword: Sun-Earth Interactions > Solar Activity > Solar Synoptic Maps keyword: Sun-Earth Interactions > Solar Activity > Solar Ultraviolet Emissions keyword: Sun-Earth Interactions > Solar Activity > Solar X-ray Emissions keyword: Sun-Earth Interactions > Solar Activity > Sunspots keyword: Sun-Earth Interactions > Solar Energetic Particle Flux > Electron Flux keyword: Sun-Earth Interactions > Solar Energetic Particle Flux > Proton Flux keyword: Sun-Earth Interactions > Solar Energetic Particle Flux > X-ray Flux keyword: Sun-Earth Interactions > Solar Energetic Particle Properties > Particle Density keyword: Sun-Earth Interactions > Solar Energetic Particle Properties > Particle Speed type: (MD_KeywordTypeCode) theme thesaurusName: (CI_Citation) title: NASA/GCMD Earth Science Keywords; Olsen, L.M., G.
