GEODAS Software for Windows®National Geophysical Data Center's GEODAS (GEOphysical DAta System) software system can be used for various NGDC downloaded data, including Marine Trackline Geophysics, NOS Hydrographic Surveys, Coastal Relief Model, ETOPO1 Gridded Elevations and Great Lakes Bathymetry. Other datasets can also benefit from this comprehensive software package. Desktop Windows SoftwareClick to install or update the GEODAS Software Ver 5.0.24.5. See readme.txt for install instructions. CoastlinesNGDC has moved to using the GSHHS Shorelines (including WDBII Rivers and Political Boundaries). Click to save the latest GSHHS Shorelines and WDBII Rivers and Political Boundaries in ESRI Shape File© format. GEODAS software (see Desktop Windows Software above) works with GSHHS/WDBII. GEODAS application Coastline Extractor allows subsetting GSHHS/WDBII by area, resolution, etc. See NGDC's Shoreline/Coastline Resources page for links to GSHHS/WDBII and to other shape file shoreline datasets. Users who want the old GEODAS Coastlines files (also works with GEODAS software) can download the GEODAS Coastlines Gridded DatasetsGEODAS Software application Grid Translator can be used view, revise, subset and re-format GRD98, and ARC ASCII and Binary grids. NGDC's ETOPO1 Global Relief, US Coastal Relief Model, and Great Lakes Bathymetry and other gridded datasets can be directly imported. See NGDC's Digital Elevation Model Discovery Portal for links to NGDC's bathymetry gridded datasets. Contour Data Shape FilesGEODAS Software application Hydro-Plot can be used to directly view contoured data in ESRI Shape File format. NGDC provides contours via various types of data, including Great Lakes Bathymetry contours. GEODAS Exchange Formats MGD-2000GEODAS Software applications and many non-NGDC sites often use a set of data exchange formats developed at NGDC, collected as GEODAS MGD-2000 Formats. Formats included are: For more information about GEODAS Software, datasets and formats please contact trackline.info@noaa.gov For more information about Coastlines at NGDC please contact coastline.info@noaa.gov |
