This CD-ROM, designed and produced by the National Geophysical Data Center (NGDC) and collocated World Data Center for Marine Geology and Geophysics, Boulder as WDC for MGG, Boulder Seafloor Series volume 1, includes the complete suite of digital core descriptive and analytical data files generated during the Deep Sea Drilling Project. Data are offered in the original DSDP format and as tab-delimited ASCII files suitable for use with spreadsheet programs. Selected files are also offered in a browse format for on-line viewing. Sediment and rock data are listed by site/hole, by site/hole within an individual leg, by data type, and by geographic area name. The original 1989 DSDP version 1.0 CD-ROM set was produced by NGDC/WDC for MGG, Boulder, in cooperation with, and with support from the U.S. Science Support Program, Joint Oceanographic Institutions, Inc. through a contract from the U.S. National Science Foundation. The supply of version 1.0 CD-ROMs, which included DOS and Macintosh software is now exhausted. This new CD-ROM with an HTML interface replaces the sediment and hard rock portions of that set.
