ETOPO2v2 Global Gridded 2-minute DatabaseETOPO2v2 is deprecated, the current relief model is ETOPO1
Two-minute gridded global relief for both ocean and land areas are available in the ETOPO2v2 (2006) database. ETOPO2v2 replaced ETOPO2 (2001). The historic 2-minute (ETOPO2v2) and 5-minute (ETOPO5) data are deprecated, but still available. Please use the new ETOPO1 Global Gridded Relief Model. Available Versions
ETOPO2v2c: Cell Centered (pixel registered, where the cell boundaries are lines of even minutes of latitude and longitude, centered on intersections of lines of odd minutes of latitude and longitude).
ETOPO2v2g: Grid Centered (gridline registered, with cell boundaries defined by lines of odd minutes of latitude and longitude, meaning that cells were centered on the integer multiples of 2 minutes [even minutes] of latitude and longitude). The cell-centered grid is the authoritative version. The grid-centered version was derived from the cell-centered grid and the conversion produces slightly flattened relief. Download whole world grids in multiple formats:
Custom Grids
Online: Custom grids can be created online from the ETOPO2v2c using NGDC's online Grid Translator
Desktop/Offline: For both cell-centered and grid-centered downloaded grids, custom grids with user-defined bounds can be created in multiple formats, using the desktop version of Grid Translator, part of the free GEODAS Windows Software for Online Downloads and GEODAS XWindows Software.
