Navigating NCAR

On the first day of the workshop, all visitors need to present a picture ID at the security guard station check in and state that they are attending the CLASS Users' Workshop. The guards will have a list of attendees.

At the workshop, please pick up your visitor badge. This will serve as your ID the next time you enter security check in. You will not need to check out with the security guard upon leaving the premises. And importantly, no one is permitted to pull their cars up to the front doors for security purposes.

Note that you can only enter into the NCAR building through the main lobby. If you leave through one of the exit doors, there is not a way to reenter the building without going around to the front main lobby entrance. Only the doors from within the cafeteria onto the cafeteria terrace eating area are the exception to this rule.

Main Seminar Room:
Enter the main lobby of NCAR and take the first set of stairs just in front of and slightly to the left of the security desk up to the mezzanine level. At the top of the stairs the auditorium is located on the left hand side.

Fleischman Boardroom:
At the crest the top of Table Mesa Drive, you will see the five-story NCAR building on the right. Just as you get to the parking lot, you will see the Fleischmann buildilng on the left, set back from the road a bit. There is a sign out front.

Director's Conference Room:
Enter the main lobby of NCAR and go west past the security desk up two flights of stairs to the second floor. Make a left at the top of the stairs. The room is located on the left hand side.

Damon Room:
Enter the main lobby of NCAR and go west past the security desk up two flights of stairs to the second floor, make an immediate right and go down the hall heading south and make another right into another hallway and the Damon Room is immediately on the left hand side. There is a big reception room and directly south beyond that room is the main meeting room.

Chapman Room:
Enter the main lobby of NCAR and go west past the security desk, up two flights of stairs to the second floor. Make a right turn at the top of the stairs and head south down the hallway and then make a left down a hallway heading east. The Chapman room will be two doors down on the left hand side.

Cafeteria:
Enter the main lobby of NCAR and head south down the hallway and at the end of the hallway, make a left into a hallway heading east which eventually turns south and continue to follow it to the cafeteria entrance. Cafeteria is cash only.
