Boulder, Colorado - August 11-12, 2005
|
I invite your participation in the Boulder CLASS Users' Workshop - set for August 11 and 12, 2005. Below is a listing of the current agenda. The venue is located in the Main Seminar room at NCAR - on the Mesa.
CLASS is the Comprehensive Large Array-data Stewardship System, designed to provide long-term archive and access to NOAA's satellite data, plus other satellite data holdings NOAA has responsibility for.
Earlier this year NESDIS decided that there will be two CLASS sites, one at NCDC and one at NGDC. Each site will hold a complete set of the CLASS data. This plan involves the move of the CLASS site in Suitland, Maryland to Boulder in the next year.
The purpose of the workshop is to: 1) gather input from groups that are expected to use large volumes of data from CLASS for use in designing a more usable system, and 2) to begin the establishment of collaborations between the CLASS nodes and a set of large volume users of CLASS data. For information about CLASS, see www.osd.noaa.gov/class. To review the current CLASS data access system, see www.class.noaa.gov/nsaa/products/welcome.
