Connecting similar data and products is an important goal of SPEEDS. Database fields must be internally consistent for those connections to be possible. Checking that consistency requires being able to display all of the values for a particular field. This page shows that type of display for several fields.
The distribution of GRID_SIZE raises several questions:
- Is GRID_SIZE spatial resolution, like 0.125 x 0.125 deg, or is it part of the description of a data object, like 1024 X 1024, or is it both (see comparison)?
- How should either of these concepts be described?
- Are there appropriate abbreviations for these descriptions?
The distribution of VERTICAL_RESOLUTION raises several questions:
- Is there a difference between a level and a layer?
