This version of NDVI is similar to the version contained in \DATA\AVHRRCLI\AVERAGE on Disc 1.... except: Those data on Disc 1 are in the original NOAA Global Vegetation Index Plate Carree grid of 904 rows and 2500 columns. Those data cover a nominal 75 degrees north to 55 degrees south latitude. The data contained here are resampled (by a nearest neighbor algorithm) to the 10-arc-minute Plate Carree global grid of the Global Change Data Base. That grid covers 90 degrees north to south latitude, with 1080 rows and 2160 columns. This grid may be a convenience for users of the Global Change Data Base, including the Global Ecosystems Database, available from NOAA National Geophysical Data Center 325 Broadway Boulder CO 80303 fax: 303-497-6513 email: info@ngdc.noaa.gov Many data from the Global Ecosystems Database are offered here in the \DATA\NCILLARY directory. Documentation (usually as .gif scanned files, which can be viewed with the enclosed GeoVu software and other utilities such as World Wide Web browsers) is contained under \DOCUMENT. ========================================================================== If you are conducting time-series or other analyses SOLELY of the AVHRR climatologies presented here, don't use these data. Use the data in the \DATA\AVHRRCLI directory on Disc 1. These data are here only for consistency with the Global Change Data Base, and for the multivariate study that can be facilitated with such ancillary data.
