by Garik Gutman, Dan Tarpley, Aleksandr Ignatov, NOAA/NESDIS Satellite Research Laboratory, Camp Springs, Maryland
and Steve Olson, Research and Data Systems Corporation, Greenbelt, Maryland.
This is Volume 3 in the Global Change Data Base:
Editor David Hastings, NOAA/NESDIS National Geophysical Data Center, Boulder, Colorado
This version of NDVI is similar to the version contained in
\DATA\AVHRRCLI\AVERAGE on Disc 1....
except: Those data on Disc 1 are in the original NOAA Global Vegetation
Index Plate Carree grid of 904 rows and 2500 columns.
Those data cover a nominal 75 degrees north to 55 degrees south
latitude.
The data contained here are resampled (by a nearest neighbor algorithm) to
the 10-arc-minute Plate Carree global grid of the Global Change Data Base.
That grid covers 90 degrees north to south latitude, with 1080 rows and 2160
columns. This grid may be a convenience for users of the Global Change Data
Base, including the Global Ecosystems Database, available from
