Description: Carbonate (aragonite/calcite) muds. Three main facies: a) gray, pelleted-aragonite mud in irregular cm thick beds, b) massive, banded, gray aragonite muds, c) greenish gray, organic ooze with diatoms,parallel bedding and fine lamination. The sequences are composed of alternation of facies a and b in cycles up to 10 cm. The Mazama ash is located at 4A 2H-2, 38-39 cm.
