1 :    EDW-E96-2A-2P   0 to 89 0 cm to 89 cm downhole (device=core, piston) Unit: I
Data/Photo: barrel sheet
Geologic Age: Holocene
Absolute Age at top: 1000
Absolute Age at bottom: 1900
Comments: Kullenberg(former core id=Edward96-E96-2-2P) site location: Democratic Republic of Congo; exact position (read from GPS)
Description: Light reddish brown, carbonate muds with occasional lenses and beds of ferruginous sand. XRD indicates 15-20% Mg in calcite. Gradational contact over 3cm to underlying unit Ia.
2 :    EDW-E96-2A-2P   89 to 124 89 cm to 124 cm downhole (device=core, piston) Unit: Ia
Data/Photo: barrel sheet
Geologic Age: Holocene
Comments: Kullenberg(former core id=Edward96-E96-2-2P)
Description: Rounded, reddish and black sand sized peloids with scattered, ferruginized ostracod and plant debris. Wavy and abrupt contact to underlying Unit II suggests sedimentary hiatus of ca. 2000 years.
3 :    EDW-E96-2A-2P   124 to 327 124 cm to 327 cm downhole (device=core, piston) Unit: II
Data/Photo: barrel sheet
Geologic Age: Holocene
Absolute Age at top: 6700
Absolute Age at bottom: 9200
Comments: Kullenberg(former core id=Edward96-E96-2-2P)
Description: Massive, sapropelic clay with lenticularly laminated diatomaceous intervals. Fine grained with finely scattered fish and ostracod remains and rounded black sand grains in coarse fraction. Gradational contact to underlying Unit IV.
4 :    EDW-E96-2A-2P   327 to 395 327 cm to 395 cm downhole (device=core, piston) Unit: III
Data/Photo: barrel sheet
Geologic Age: Holocene
Absolute Age at top: 9200
Absolute Age at bottom: 11,200
Comments: Kullenberg(former core id=Edward96-E96-2-2P)
Description: Light Finely laminated to lenticularly laminated diatom ooze. Lenticular laminations composed of sub-mm olive gray diatom-rich layers alternating with dark olive to black sapropelic clays.
5 :    EDW-E96-2A-2P   395 to 414 395 cm to 414 cm downhole (device=core, piston) Unit: IIIa
Data/Photo: barrel sheet
Geologic Age: Holocene
Absolute Age at top: 9200
Absolute Age at bottom: 11,200
Comments: Kullenberg(former core id=Edward96-E96-2-2P)
Description: Reddish gray, slightly silty clay with iron oxide minerals and calcite.
6 :    EDW-E96-2A-2P   414 to 491 414 cm to 491 cm downhole (device=core, piston) Unit: III
Data/Photo: barrel sheet
Geologic Age: Holocene
Absolute Age at top: 9200
Absolute Age at bottom: 11,200
Comments: Kullenberg(former core id=Edward96-E96-2-2P)
Description: Finely laminated to lenticularly laminated diatom ooze. Lenticular laminations composed of sub mm olive gray diatom rich layers alternating with dark olive to black sapropelic clays.
