Mid Pacific Seamount. Two buckets both labeled 1 available.

Comments: ~75 lbs of rocks, one bag stored and a few samples (34 kgs) kept in lab for further examination. Mn- encrusted, carbonate (?) cemented, highly altered volcanic breccia. Also recrystallized pelagic limestone. The recrystallization process has destroyed most of foram tests present originally (Hantkenina?). However, based on the remains of a few bugs (and the wind direction), a tentative date of Eocene for the L.S. has been suggested. History - 1) Vulcanism, 2) Brecciation, 3) cementation & formation of pelagic L.S., 4) Mn- encrustation.
