Lithology/Mineralogy: igneous (extrusive/volcanic), basalt
Comments: 14 numbered samples; 4 bags of unsampled rocks; sed sample from pipe dredge; ?200 lbs of rock. Sample 1,2,9,10,11,12 - pillow fragments, with aphyric glass, pc phyric rock, scarde ol, minor vesicles <1-1%; patchy palagonite and Fe oxide. Sample 3 - glassy pillow toe, pc xtals throughout, minor vesicles <1%, minor palagonite & Fe oxide. Sample 4,5,8 - glassy, ropy pahoehoe textured, pillow fragments, abundant pc, minor ol, glassy -ropy- surface highly Fe oxidize, minor palagonit, sparse <1% vesicles. Sample 6 - no glass, angular fragment, abundant pc, moderate ol, rare ol glomerocrysts, scattered vesicles, minor Mn and patchy palagonite. Sample 7 - pillow frag, 0-5 mm glass, abundant ol moderate pc, minor vesicles, minor Mn oxide and Fe oxide coatings. Sample 13,14 - coalescing pillow frags, 0-7 mm glass, abundant ol, pc in glass, minor vesicles, patchy palagonite.
