Compilation of new bathymetry for Lake Ontario, an inherently large undertaking, has benefited from the active participation of cooperating scientists at the NOAA National Geophysical Data Center, the Canadian Hydrographic Service, the NOAA Great Lakes Environmental Research Laboratory, and the Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Sciences. Much of the NOAA work was carried out under the auspices of the Great Lakes Data Rescue Project with the support of the NOAA Environmental Sciences Data and Information Management (ESDIM) Program; the NOAA National Environmental Satellite, Data, and Information Service; and the NOAA National Geophysical Data Center. The compilers are grateful for the generous assistance and cooperation of scientific colleagues, reviewers, and supporting staff. In particular, the compilers would like to acknowledge archivists at the NOAA National Ocean Service Coast Survey and the Canadian Hydrographic Service, who responded favorably to large requests for bathymetric data stored on paper sheets.
